WE OPEN ON SATURDAY 27TH MARCH 2010 2.00 TO 5.00

in conjunction with KENT BIG DAY OUT

 

And will be open for visits at the Mill on Saturdays, Sundays and

Bank Holiday Mondays from 2 o'clock to 5 o'clock

(CHECK BEFORE VISITING ON A SATURDAY as we sometimes have weddings)

 

 

During July and August we are also open on

Wednesday afternoons from 2 o'cock until 5 o'clock.

 

Children are always welcome at the mill.

 

They can make their own flour on the quern stones and take home

a small quantity of flour and a Miller's Certificate

while Mums can enjoy a quiet cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake.

 

Our Big Children's Event each year (usually in June) is the

Teddy Bears' Picnic day when bears are abseiled from the top of the Mill. 

  

School/Club Visits can be organised during weekdays

when children will be

taken around the mill by experienced guides.

 

Children can learn how the mill works, what the miller's life was like,

how the Victorians lived by visiting the Victorian Cottage and much more.

How the wind affects the mill - how the machinery was designed and put into use.

How the mill is run from an engine when the wind is not blowing.
